In the Swing

Back from NZ and back in the swing.

Thankyou to the girls that turned up to FAC for their first Learn to Sew Workshop last Sunday - they were so understanding when I informed them I'd be cutting the class short by half because I had to dash off to a funeral in New Zealand.

I'm looking forward to seeing them this Sunday when we'll make up for lost time and get stuck into the

brand-new-hot-off-the-press

Wardrobe Surgery at Tresillian started back the day after I arrived home and a thankyou to these girls for their understanding of my slightly jet-lagged demeanor.

Joanie had read my last post so new before hand where I'd been & why and at the start of the class gifted me some buttons from her Grannie - told you REinventing attracts the best people!

To the girls I rang this morning and cancelled todays All Day workshop on because of this bloody toothache - thankyou thankyou thankyou! There was no way I could have managed to stand, talk & think.
  I equate toothache to being worse than childbirth because the pains too close to the brain and unless you're prepared to extract your own tooth there's not a dammed thing you can do about it.
It's all good now though and I'll be waiting with the jug on next Saturday morning!

Here at the Studio, the All Day Workshops have proved popular this time of year.

Due to a cancellation there's a couple of spots available;

10am-3pm

and

All Day Friday 

3rd & 10th Dec.

9:30am-2:30pm

A Hills Habit

Over the weekend I got to spend another wonderful day REinventing with the glorious Girls in the Hills.
This could become my favourite place to REinvent outside the Studio - seriously, only the nicest people are attracted to REinventing and they live in the best places!

 In-between sewing, cutting & pinning we laughed, ate & drank (tea), oohed & ahhed over sweet Calum & each others creations, we talked, shared & learnt all sorts of stuff - like you can walk the Bibbulmum Track for 2 months on your own if you want!

Emmas mum Denise was visiting from Victoria so it was lovely that they got to share the experience together and I got an invite to visit when we're over in November.

 

Emmas REinvention is as pretty as she is and Denise took to REinventing like a duck to water!

 

Dawn generously hosted the workshop in her beautiful home.

Her skirt REinventions were remarkable - she's remarkable, not only can she REinvent she can do it while breast-feeding!

 

Even though it was a warm day Brigita stoically managed to REinvent a zippered, partially felted Cardy into this funky Jumper - apparently it wont be neccessary on the Bibbulmum Track.

 

 

 Nicole was a first time REinventor aswell however being the very creative person she is the challenge to turn unwearable garments into wearable ones wasn't difficult at all - there's more over here on her blog.

I think it will make its way onto her Etsy site, if it doesn't get snavelled up before hand!

Turns out the 'Motivation Fairy' was here all along, only I was looking at wrong door - in fact I think that's her in the top right hand corner!
I'd confused lack of motivation with lack of direction - a minor hiccup and we're back on track!

I did some Nuno-felting during the school holidays.

Nuno for me is stepping outside the box.

It's still REinventing only without a sewing machine.

I've made some to gift and some to sell.

Waiting & Wondering.

Waiting for the 'Motivation Fairy' to pop in the door and wondering why she's so bloody late - it's not like there's nothing for her to do.

Apologies for the most boring blog in the land - I had the best of intentions and then life got in the way.

2wks of school holidays - I refuse to ever play another game of Cluedo

workshops winding down - too much time to think

working out a years worth of workshops - yesterday I couldn't remember how to add up

inviting others into my world because that's what clever people do in business - only to realise I'm not as clever as I thought I was.

The list could go on & on and get quite convoluted & nasty - there's a little man at the Jetstar Call Centre who knows to what I refer.

Today's a new day though & with one foot in front of the other I'll get moving 

and try hard not to trip over!
