I've been working on the next pattern to join the Sew Outside the Lines™ family and wanted to share the prototype.
At the moment I'm struggling with two things
the Darts
and a name...
The darts I'll potter with while tearing my hair out however I wondered if you would help me with the name.
It's a pinafore style, inspired by a favourite REinvention - fishermens pants into a frock, so I would like to incorporate the word 'fish' in their somewhere...
the best I've come up with so far is,
'Fishing for Compliments Frock'
I'd actually like to call it the 'Fat-Day Frock' coz that's when it'll shine -
on those days when don't want to think too hard about what to wear,
when you just want to throw something on & know you look fab
when you actually feel like crap -
not good marketing to use the words fat & crap but you know what I mean!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Now onto the important part of this post,
the Birthday Give Away - pattern of your choice winner is...
Drum roll...

I'd have photographic evidence if my batteries weren't flat & the 10yr old hadn't misplaced the battery charger...
Thankyou to everyone for joining in, there were some hilarious & creative birthday traditions shared - I might have to re-think & jazz ours up a bit!

I reckon call it as you see it - Fat Day Frock is fabulous! Those of us who have fat days also usually have a sense of humour (hidden in our rolls of belly fat!)

How about 'Fishing for Compliments Frock"? And bust darts are tricky things aren't they - I tend to avoid them if I can, but I do tend to prefer the ones that start low down near the waist, like in a lot of vintage coat patterns.

Vic - this one and the Piece of Cake are the Everyday Frocks - I wear them like others wear T-shirts.
How about Fish Trap? Or Day's Catch?
