and then they lined up to get Rebecca to sign the remaining Isabella's Garden books left in the country!

The publisher met with Reb recently to tell her that Isabella's Garden had sold out & was at the publishers being re-printed and that it is the fastest selling children's illustrated book in Australia EVER!

It was a fabulous night & I'm so glad Rebs son couldn't make it, so I could. Not only was it entertaining listening to 20 authors & illustrators talk about their books & themselves, there were drinks and the food was really yummy!
As nervous as Rebecca was she was the best speaker on the night.
She spoke with sincerity, humility & honesty, sharing the journey that brought her to be standing in front of them. I sat toward the back and could see the audiences collective reactions. They laughed when she talked about not needing to pack eggs at the local chicken farm anymore, they sat up when she revealed the book was in reprint, they sighed when she spoke of the gallery owner that went bankrupt owing her thousands and I tried not to cry because I was just so damned proud!
