Birthday Frock

Things are moving very slowly here

and as another year ticks along
another birthday was celebrated
over the weekend
and I made a frock

the birthday frock

inspired by a random moment
when a hand towel was tossed over a chair next to a filed skirt

REinvented from a mens shirt
and a too-big-skirt
using the Piece of Cake pattern
as a guide

worn out to celebrate

with a favourite felted collar & frippery combination

where vintage treasure was rescued
and too much food was eaten.

  1. Happy Birthday fellow ex Kiwi - must of been that wonderful winter magic in the air that you get in New Zealand as I was born today and will celebrate next weekend. Busselton here we come. Its been very quiet lately without your blog posts - trust all is well as we start seeing the warmer weather. :-)

    1. Another Leo and a Kiwi one at that.
I was the first of four children Leanne, each born respectable distances apart in every season so I think in the case of my parents they were slow learners!
      All is well. x
