I've always wanted a Hatbox and I nearly missed getting this one.
A couple of Sundays back Dan & I headed off to the local swap meet
and a few stalls in I spied an interesting array of sewing flotsam & jetsam,
I took absolutely no notice of what was containing them
until I was waiting to pay the gentleman and had the opportunity to scan his stall further
when my eyes returned to the item I had just emptied
this gorgeous vintage leather Hatbox.... duh!
At a cost of $7 she's taken pride of place atop a stack of clothes & vintage suitcases.
On the other hand
I'm still unsure
where I'm going to put
these ceramic floral baskets
but at $9 each
they had to come live at my house.

It is full of gorgeous treasures - her old gloves, 'good' going out handbags with beads and embroidery and special brooches.
Truly a hatbox full of treasures.

ReplyDeleteAlso really loving that hat box and those gorgeous suitcases it's sitting on! I managed to get myself one a long time ago and have no intentions of letting it go. It's one of those made of brown cardboard like a lot of the suitcases, and fabulous it is. Mind you, black-taurus-moon's hat box sounds like one to die for! Lucky lady.
And as kitchy as those ceramic baskets are, I have to admit that I'm rather drawn to them!
With a bit of luck I'll be back on board with the blog and will join in next week. :)
