Airing dirty Laundry - Blogtoberfest

I'm not going to name & shame - they know who they are.

From the outset I would like to make it clear
my children have not lead charmed, privileged or indulged lives,
there are more ground rules here than most prisons,
my favourite word has always been 'no', followed closely by 'don't push me'
they don't have set chores however are expected to contribute to the daily domestics,
they've also lived here long enough to realise
I.am.no-ones.slave

So why when asked to tidy their rooms do they think this is okay?!

I know there's clothes in there that haven't been worn cos they're still neatly folded by me from the day before!

  1. That is terrible yet funny, funny because it is so so typical isn't it? I mean, my teen is just as bad at times. She'll do a seemingly great job of tidying up her "floordrobe" only to transfer it all into the washing machine - but not actually wash it. She's 16 and still asks me every time how to use the washing machine... *sigh*

  2. my daughter was doing such a good job of helping me to load the washing machine the other day that I asked her to go and get the washing from her brother's room... BAD mistake! She went to his wardrobe, swiped ALL the clean clothes off the shelves and proudly brought them to me (mixed in with the dirty ones of course!)
Hmmm, guess I should've known better!

  3. I shared this blog with my family. I didn't get any comments, only a big smile, now knowing that they are not the only ones. Maud

  4. Oh yes, I've seen that too many times. If I have the energy I blast them, especially the clean folded clothes bit. As if there isn't already too much laundry to do.
My DH does his own and so do the kids from about 12yo onwards.
even my 8yo DS is enjoying the novelty of using the laundry machines.

  6. Looks like they are getting a pile of clothes togethr for the op-shop. Or maybe they want to see which clothes go best with which so that they can do some reconstructing themselves. Cherrie
